Who can attend?
All married couples are welcome to register, whether you’ve been married a week or 50 years. Is there childcare?
We would like your sole focus to be on your spouse and the course, so we strongly encourage you to leave your children at home. However, if the only thing preventing you from registering is lack of childcare, please indicate that on the registration form, and we will arrange for supervision at church on a case-by-case basis. What if we can’t attend all six weeks?
Please do not register if you know you cannot attend all six weeks. Each session builds upon the previous week, and the course is limited to only five couples. If you discover you will miss a week prior to the course beginning, please let us know so we can cancel your registration and allow a couple on the waitlist to attend.Do we both have to attend?
Yes. The course is built around the two of you working through the material together. We can’t attend these dates/times or the course is full. Will the course be offered again?
Yes! We intend to offer the course twice a year. Why is there a registration fee?
The registration fee covers the cost of the printed course materials. If the fee is a barrier, contact us; no one will be turned away over cost.Where does the course information come from?
The content is sourced from the Bible, the Church Fathers, Orthodox and Christian marriage books, and scientific research. What can we expect during a session?
Each session begins with a short warm-up activity with your spouse to introduce the topic, followed by a lecture/discussion-style talk filled with tools and strategies to hone your relationship. Each week you will leave with “homework” to complete with your spouse (don’t worry, we don’t collect or grade it)! Just remember, you will get out as much as you put in! And of course, we will have snacks! Is this course for couples with marital problems?
Marriage is a beautiful garden in constant need of tending. Whether your garden was just freshly landscaped, you have a couple of weeds you need to take care of, or it’s completely overrun with foxes, there is something every couple can learn from or be reminded of in this course. All are welcome.Do we have to share private information with other couples?
No! We will never ask you to share any details of your marriage during the sessions. All of the activities and exercises are intended to be completed with your spouse only.
